Emerson Heights / Little Flower neighborhood yard sale

Saturday, June 17
This is a great opportunity to get rid of some of that stuff that has been collecting around the house while making a little money.
It is also a great excuse to visit with some of your neighbors.

EHCO will be collecting a small fee from each participant to help offset the cost of advertising.

Neighborhood School Options

Mary Ann Sullivan
Indiana University Center for Excellence in Leadership of Learning
Irvington Public Library
Wednesday, June 7th
6:30 - 8:00pm

Are you interested in creating/supporting excellent public schools in the Emerson heights/Irvington/Little Flower area? If so, please come to a meeting at the Irvington Pulic Library on Wednesday, June 7, from 6:30-8:00. Many families in our area are interested in magnet schools such as the Center for Inquiry, but the lottery may not smile on us. Many of us would like to support a school located close by, such as School 57, but currently children living in our neighborhoods are assigned to five different elementary schools, some of them a substantial bus ride away. At the June 7 meeting, we will hear from Mary Ann Sullivan, a school reform consultant with CELL at the University of Indianapolis and a former Irvington resident. Her talk will be followed by conversation about how we might enhance our neighborhood options. Please come, and tell your friends and neighbors! For more information, contact Jennifer Drake at jdrake@uindy.edu.

EHCO Monthly Meeting 5/18/06

-Vote on new mission statement
-Discuss organizational structure for bylaws

This meeting will include a vote to adopt the new mission statement and to review our organizational structure in preparation for writing new bylaws.

EHCO currently has a constitution that was written when the organization was formed in November 1990 and has not been significantly updated except to reflect a change in boundaries in 1998.

With great respect to those who helped to create an organization that has been vibrant for almost sixteen years, updating our mission statement and bylaws allows us the opportunity to more accurately reflect the goals, vision and structure of the organization now and position it for continued success in the future.

More information on the proposed mission statement may be found under News. A copy of our current constitution is included as a file attachment below.

Neighborhood residents are encouraged to participate in this meeting.
