NESCO Congress 2008

GINI Quality of Life Plan to be Presented!
Sat. Feb 23rd, 9:00 AM - 1:00 pm
Tech High School Cafeteria

NESCO will be presenting the GINI Quality of Life plan for the Eastside.

-Lunch will be provided

-Mayor Ballard will be present

-The neighborhood with the most adult attendees will receive $100 for their neighborhood organization.

This is an important opportunity to see the work that the committees have been working on for the Great Indy Neighborhood Initiative. It's also an opportunity to meet the new mayor and let him know how committed we are to our communities on the east side.

Q&A with Mayor Ballard

Part of Mayor's Day Out.

There will be meetings during the day, a bus tour of the near eastside and a special meet & greet opportunity for neighborhood leaders.
The day will culminate with a public question and answer session with the new Mayor. NESCO director Tracy Heaton will be the moderator

Please plan on joining us at Brookside School to meet the new mayor and get your questions answered.

Housing Forum

This forum, hosted by the Willard Park neighborhood, will also include the new Deputy Mayor Olgen Williams.

Near eastside neighbors are invited to share their growing concerns over problems with the Indianapolis Housing Authority’s (IHA) Section 8 housing units. IHA will discuss their mission in Indianapolis and newly implemented strategies to combat some of these issues. The near eastside will also have an opportunity to dialogue with IHA to find out how our neighborhoods can be a part of the solutions.

Little Flower School Open House

1401 N. Bosart Avenue
January 27, 2008
Noon to 2:00 p.m

The Little Flower Catholic School welcomes all children and their families to their Open House on January 27, 2008 from noon to 2:00 p.m. There will be an opening presentation at 12:15 in the cafeteria and people are free to visit anytime during the Open House.

Every school room will be open and staffed with students, their parents, and teachers to answer questions and provide information about the classes for children in preschool through eighth grade. Additional information about tuition assistance, uniforms, special enhancement classes, and curriculum will also be provided. If the date is not convenient, private tours may be arranged by calling the school office at 353-2282 . The school is located at 1401 N. Bosart Avenue. Everyone is welcome. Please plan to attend!

Post Holiday Recycling Extravaganza

Jan. 5, 9 a.m. -2 p.m.

Here’s a chance to bring your real Christmas trees, (trees must be stripped of all ornaments, lights and other decorations), cardboard boxes, gift boxes (no wrapping paper), used electronics (computers, televisions, cell phones and most electronics with cords or batteries) and toner cartridges to one of the following four Indy Parks:

Broad Ripple Park - 1550 Broad Ripple Ave.
Ellenberger Park - 5301 E. St.Clair St.
Garfield Park - 2345 Pagoda Drive
Krannert Park - 605 S. High School Road

Volunteers will be on hand to help unload your recyclables.
