The school building has been purchased by the Irvington Community School and will be renovated over the coming months.<br /> <br /> <br /> Beginning with 9th grade and expanding a grade per year to serve grades 9-12, <a href="http://www.ics-charter.org/highschool/" title="Irvington Community High School">Irvington Community High School</a> will provide a blended environment for students that combines elements of a rigorous, college preparatory school with an entrepreneurially focused education. This approach will provide students with a systemic foundation for successful leadership in future education, community, and career adventures.<br /> <br /> ICHS builds upon the tradition of Irvington Community School, one of the first public charter schools in the state. Free of tuition, ICHS offers a unique education experience delivered through a challenging curriculum and professional teaching staff. ICHS emphasizes the development of the whole student by exposing all students to culture classes such as Spanish, French, physical education, art, and music.<br /> <br /> Small size equals greater flexibility. From its founding as a community school, ICHS will be able to meet the diverse needs of each student because of its size and commitment to the individual learning experience.
