“Researching Your Historic Home” - Free Workshop
Spades Park Library, 1801 Nowland Ave
Tuesday, May 1, 2006 5:30 pm.-8:00 p.m. Indianapolis photo-historian/researcher and our History and Preservation committee chair Joan Hostetler will guide participants through the steps to research their historic home. You'll learn how to use resources such as city directories, deeds, building permits and maps to determine when your house was built and who lived there. Participants are encouraged to bring abstracts, photographs and other forms of documentation to weave together their home's architectural and cultural story. This popular program, presented in 2004 by NESCO and was attended by over 60 residents. It's sure to sure to attract a large crowd again this year! Please call the Spades Park Library at 275-4520 to register for this free library program. Sponsored by HLFI, IMCPL, and NESCO’s History and Preservation Committee. Part of the "THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME" lecture series sponsored by Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library.
